All about the greens!

Who doesn’t love a great green juice or smoothie? They’re so easy to make, taste amazing, and help to balance out all of the damage we do to ourselves throughout the week.

These are the greens I use the most, and I broke it down to tell you why they’re such powerhouses, and what they go best with. I also highly recommend rotating your greens to avoid alkaloid buildup. All leafy greens have alkaloids, and eating the same greens all the time can build up in our bodies, causing negative side effects such as nausea, rapid heartbeat and anxiety. While this is very rare, you should switch it up so you won’t get bored drinking the same thing. Plus, trying new greens gives you the opportunity to benefit from the different tastes and nutritional elements they each have. If you’re just starting try switching greens every week. If you’ve been drinking your greens for awhile, then depending on your budget, try switching and eating greens from the different “families” listed below 2-3x a week.

Crucifers: Kale, Arugula
Amaranth: Spinach, Chard
Asteraceae: Dandelion
