Kiwi, blackberry and spinach green juice!

Juice1I have to confess I have not been as strict lately with my exercise and eating regimen. A little extra food here and there, saying yes to dessert one too many times, and not exercising for the past few months have left me looking at the mirror and cringing a bit at what I see. Sure there is more of me to love (ha), and yes no one but me probably notices, but I know I’m not in my top form and I need to step up my game before it gets out of control. The first step for me is always drinking green juices. I was experimenting and came up with this simple gem that is now my absolute favorite drink!

The best part is that like all of my recipes, it’s easy to make in minutes!

Kiwi Blackberry Boost

Ingredients:

2 handfuls spinach
1 kiwi scooped out
1 small handful blackberries
1 cup of filtered water

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in your magic bullet, ninja or blender of choice and blend for 30-60 seconds until you get your desired consistency. Adding more or less water will give you a thinner or thicker consistency respectively.

Kiwi Benefits:

  • More Vitamin C (an antioxidant) ounce per ounce than an orange.
  • Fiber in a kiwi helps to regulate blood sugar absorption.
  • Great source of Vitamin K which helps with blood clotting and Vitamin D absorption.
  • Great source of potassium which helps to control blood pressure.
  • Low in calories.

Blackberry Benefits:

  • Contains fiber that can aid in digestion and help to lower your cholesterol.
  • Source of Vitamin A which helps maintain healthy mucus membranes in your digestive system.
  • Low in calories.
  • VERY high in antioxidants.

Buen provecho!

XOXO Helen
