Tony Robbins once said, “everything that happens in your life – both what you’re thrilled with and what you’re challenged by – began with a decision.”
I admit it’s easy to stand in the mirror and point out everything that we don’t like with our bodies rather than workout. It’s easier to just grab a #1 from a fast food chain when you were up all night working or dealing with the kids, than making your lunch or eating something that’s healthier. And, it’s way too easy to just go through the motions of our day rather than pushing ourselves to do more, because we’re already overwhelmed, right! Like Tony said, good or bad these are all decisions (choices) that we made. More often than not we didn’t get to where we are by chance, something we did or didn’t do led to the chain of events that brought us where we are. Coño!
When things like this come up for me, I now ask myself how is doing this being loving to myself? Because believe it or not, it all comes down to love. I’m going to make a generalization here, but as women we’re too quick to brush off our own needs to take care of others or other things like our job, our family and our friends. We will choose to sacrifice our time to make sure they’re happy. I think a great New Year’s resolution for all of us, is to love ourselves more. Because if we put ourselves and our needs on a higher pedestal, well really where they should be, the food, weight, and actions that we take will all be healthier.
